While researching many movie openings i saw that they all had a 3 second shot of the production company's logo. Therefore i need to create a logo for my movie opening. In the thriller genre many of the production companies names and logos are intertwined within the opening credits too. Overall the production companies use this 3 second clip to advertise themselves and for their audience to recognise their work.
For example;
The 30th century fox logo is bright and bold. With the set of spotlights illuminating the writing, the words become the focal point of the image. The clouds represent heaven. Many production company's try to illustrate their company as a shining star in the movie industry. Through the location and the lighting they have produced a glorified symbol.
The Beacon in Colombia pictures logo is symbolic for leading the people in to the new future of moving pictures. The picture once again creates a sense of leadership and glorification.
Stars and mountains are up in the sky. The words paramount are above the tip of the mountain symbolising the companies status. Clouds are once again visible. The use of lots of stars seem to give the company a high rating. Using mellow and calm colours the image is inviting and beautiful. Something that draws the audience to look and observe. A focal point.
The focal point beacon is used once again in contrast to the dark background. A stage light is used, to relate the logo to a film company. The sun ray strips draw the eye across the whole image and the colour orange draws the viewers eye to the image. The writing is easy to read and bold. using white to parallel with the beacon light, so the writing is not overshadowed.
The Miramax films logo is a much more traditional logo. However just as effective as the rest. With the white and black contrast the viewers eye is drawn to the writing. The bold print is easy to read too. Using different letter sizes draws the attention of the viewer to the bigger font words then below to the underlined writing. Using the lines drawn across the page it helps separate the words but and also draw the viewers eye across the page.
